I have been working on the Dead world in After Effects, just to get the colors and the feel right. I still want to make this environment in Maya so I will make the Maya tests to nite.
My questions is to you guys n girls- isn't the Deadworld to unhappy if it goes in all the grey scales as we wanted? Don't we have to really communicate that this is a happy secure and nice plave where the girls wants to be?
Here are some simple color tests to see what could work and not:
I have one in grey scales as well, just so that u all can see the difference. Kept the clouds yellow in this version.

Here is one idea that I had for flowers - they could grow on roots but u would never see any trees.

Wow, Ummm, I like the second from the top of your environments. You do make a point of making the Dead World a happier place - here's a thought. Maybe at the beginning of the story the Dead World could appear grey and mysterious (since the little girl have no idea where she is, plus she is a lone) - than the atmosphere changes to a happier tone just as she leaves to go to heaven.. ..
Does that make any sense - I know we don't have a lot of time for this but this is just a thought so it doesn't matter.

Yes we talked about that before and it is a good idea, the only doubt i have about it is if it confuses the audience or not, if the dead world is grey n to dark in the beginning, why would she want to go back?
This is a problem and I will need u all to brainstorm and think about it as I want the dead world finished as soon as possible, it will hopefully help when we sit down on Wednesday and look at all the tests,
how's it going with your dissertation?
It will probably be less work for next week s then u will be able to work more on it :)
